How this started

Nathan Ellsworth spent more than a decade working construction and hauling across the mid-Willamette Valley before buying a single truck and one container in 2015. The reason was straightforward: he had spent years waiting on containers that turned up late, turned up in the wrong size, or turned up with a price that changed once the load crossed a scale - and watching haulers from Portland struggle with a county disposal system they did not understand.

Eleven years on we run a fleet across Salem, Keizer, the valley towns and into Polk County, and the operating principle has not moved. Tell people the truth about what they need, protect the property, and charge the number that was quoted.

What we actually do differently

We know the county disposal system. Construction debris routes through the Salem-Keizer transfer station; much of the household garbage is burned for energy at Covanta in Brooks; electronics go to Oregon E-Cycles; yard debris to Brown's Island Compost; creosote wood needs separate handling. We know where every stream goes, so a multi-facility disposal problem becomes a single container we take away.

We recommend smaller containers. This one surprises people. Dense material - tile, mortar, masonry, the wet valley clay - reaches a container's tonnage allowance while it still looks half empty. Recommending the 15 yard instead of the 20, or a dedicated 10 for the clay, costs us revenue and saves the customer money. We do it anyway.

We work both sides of the river. The Willamette River splits Marion County from Polk, and we serve both - Salem and Keizer on the Marion side, West Salem, Dallas, Monmouth and Independence on the Polk side. We know the bridges, the hill lots and the rural runs out to Stayton, Silverton and the farm country.

One number, tarped loads. The flat rate covers delivery, seven days, collection, transfer-station disposal and a stated tonnage allowance, with the overage rate quoted in the same breath. And every load leaves tarped and secured for the haul - plain sense through a wet valley winter. No fuel surcharge, no environmental fee appearing on an invoice for the first time.

Why local knowledge matters here

The Salem area is growing, which means the work splits two ways. New construction and newer-home remodels across South Salem, the hills and Keizer produce bulky, light debris that wants a larger container. Renovation of older homes around historic downtown Salem, the Capitol and Willamette University, and in Silverton and Independence, gives up dense material that wants a smaller one. And nearly every job that moves earth produces the wet valley clay that needs its own box.

Then there is the disposal reality. The county's system routes different materials to different places, the curbside cart takes only household garbage so the container fills that gap, electronics and yard debris have their own routes, and every load must be tarped. A company that works the valley every day knows all of it. We quote each job on what it actually is, and we will explain the difference if you want to hear it.

• Nathan Ellsworth — Founder & Owner. More than a decade in local construction and hauling before starting the company. Still takes sizing calls, particularly on anything involving concrete, valley clay, hill-lot placement or a tricky access.
• Brooke Vance — Operations Manager. Runs the schedule, the swaps and the contractor accounts, and knows which valley and hill roads a loaded truck can and cannot manage. If you need a same-day swap, she is the one who makes it happen.
• Marcus Delgado — Lead Driver. Has been placing containers on Salem driveways and sloped West Salem lots for years and sizes a load by eye better than most. If he says a 30 will not fit your lot, it will not fit.
• Hailey Prewitt — Customer Care Lead. First voice on the phone most mornings, and the person who will walk you through what can and cannot go in the container.
